Leeds is the third largest city in the UK. You can find everything here – it’s a bustling city, containing award-winning national theatre, huge sporting facilities and an amazing independant food scene. You can also get out there in the nature – it’s one of the greenest cities in the country, containing award-winning parks like Roundhay Park.
In this list, I’ll round up some of the best activities to do in Leeds.
1. Culto
If you’re looking for places to eat in Leeds, this Italian restaurant is arguably the best pizza place in Leeds!
This independant pizza place cooks up some of the best Italian pizza I’ve ever tried! I’ve been countless times, and now it’s time to share it with you. With the freshest of ingredients imported from Italy, a wood fire oven, the smell of fresh dough in the air and Italian chefs headed by the head chef from Sicily, this place is simply top notch.
My personal favourite: The Carmelo – Italian imported shoulder of ham, flavourful, juicy tomatoes and fresh, thick slices of mozzarella. I like to add tangy olives and salami as well.
Don’t forget to get dessert! You’ve got chocolate mousse and the classic tiramisu, but my weakness is always the cannolis, stuffed with fresh cream. Yum.

2. Golden Acre Park
Walk off the pizza and see the green side of Leeds. This is an incredible park, 179 acres of mature woodlands and gardens means you have plenty of space to lounge or stroll. If you do decide to take (on average a 41 minute walk), you may just spot squirrels or the resident deer! Get out your binoculars too, the park is great for birdwatching – it is home to wild birds.
The park surrounds a beautiful lake, so you can sit down and bird-watch, or simply listen to the sounds of the water and gaze at the many ducks, geese and swans that pass by. If you’re looking for a beautiful place in the UK, this is your next stop.
My favourite thing to do: Have a picnic! The park is huge so you’ll be sure to find a spot. Get your favourite snacks, lay a blanket and, if you’re visiting in summer, bask in the sun and eat loads of crackers and cheese!

3. The Water Taxi
Head to the Leeds Dock and hop on a quirky yellow boat that’ll sail you to and from Leeds Dock and Granary Wharf. It’s a quick, fun and interesting way to explore Leeds, with a journey lasting approximately 15 minutes. You’ll see some enjoyable views as you head down the river.
My favourite thing to do: Take lots of pictures and wave at the opposing boat.
