Top 3 things to do in Lodz, Poland

Lodz has developed into a lively city full of arts, a food scene and culture. Read on below for my compilation of 3 unique travel spots here!

Lodz is the third largest city in Poland. It was once an industrial centre (textiles) but has developed into a lively city full of arts, a food scene and culture. It’s huge and can be hard to navigate, especially if its your first time visiting and you don’t speak Polish. I’ve compiled a list so you’ll know where to head first – read on below for my compilation of 3 unique travel spots here!

1. The Rose Passage

Located in 3 Piotrowska Street, this is an art piece where all the walls of a courtyard have been covered in broken pieces of mirror. It is beautiful, especially in the dark, where it is transformed to a beautiful mosaic.

2. Hot Chocolate at E. Wedel

Two cups of hot chocolate.

E Wedel is a Polish staple – and after going to their cafe, it’s not hard to see why. Located at Piotrkowska 69, this is hands down the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. It’s rich and super creamy. You can get different types of desserts here, cheesecakes, truffles, and more, and they’re all amazingly high quality. It was a welcome retreat after being in the cold and walking down Piotrkowska, which is the longest street in Europe!

3. Museum of the City of Lodz

This palace turned museum is a must visit if you’re wanting to know much more about the culture of Lodz and of Poland as a whole. It’s a collection of antique items from the social life and culture of Poland and the people that lived in Lodz. You also learn about the development of Lodz itself, picking itself back up from World War II. It’s definitely one to add to your travel itinerary.

Poland is a huge place, full of culture, history, and amazing food making it a great destination in Europe. If you’re wanting to know more, subscribe to my newsletter to keep updated about new posts.
