About me (and how I started this blog)

Moving to University

This was the inspiration of it all. I was full of nerves and excitement. I left my hometown in Birmingham, UK and headed off to university in Nottingham where I didn’t know anyone! I needed to find some places to go in the coming months to balance the intensity of my studies – (I definitely needed it, I was doing a Law degree!).

Failing to get to know the city

I knew that the city was vibrant, I knew that there had to be amazing things to do and places to go but – after endlessly searching on Google for ‘things to do near me’ I realised that there wasn’t really a dedicated place to go to, a place where I could find hidden gems. Of course, my search returned all the well known parts of the city, but I had to make friends for them to show me amazing places, restaurants, activities, parks and more that I’ll never forget.

Discovering my passion

After graduating with my degree in Law, I decided I didn’t want to pursue that. I felt like I had forgotten my true passion – writing and content creation. I also had a huge love and curiosity for all things Europe and exploration. Why not take advantage of living in Europe and go exploring? Why not help people take that step to finding amazing hidden gems across the continent? So, I decided to take another path.

The start of this blog

I was very nervous. I had to go off the beaten path myself, the path that I had studied to go on for three years. But it felt right to write about what I love. Now, I devote my time to showcase the best of what every country, city and town has to offer. Everyone knows about the great tourist attractions (Eiffel Tower in Paris, Statue of Liberty in New York, the Big Ben in London)…

And even though they’re great places, this blog is all about experiencing the richness, the diversity and the multitude of places that Europe has to offer.

It’s about finding experiences that are authentic as they are cool, empowering you and leaving you with amazing memories (and a full camera roll). If you want to explore Europe to the fullest, to discover the charm of the biggest cities to the smallest, then this is the blog for you. Let’s explore beyond the ordinary.

Are you ready?
